Trial Ended Status Email Template
Explain the confirmed result of an ended trial, current account access and real next options without confusing a scheduled transition with a completed one.
When to use this template
Use this only after the trial transition is confirmed and the product can accurately state the person’s current access and billing status.
Choose another approach when: You only have a scheduled event, the transition failed or is unknown, or you want to imply payment succeeded without confirmation.
Gather these inputs
- Confirmed post-trial account and subscription state.
- Actual access, data and billing consequences.
- Verified next-step and support destinations for this specific state.

Worked example
Illustrative example, not a Crany customer result. Replace every example detail with facts you can verify.
In a fictional example, a trial ends and editing pauses because no continuation plan was selected. The email says editing is paused and describes the verified account options; it does not say a charge was collected or the project was deleted. If the transition were still processing, this completed-state message would not be used. The sender checks current access and any export route before promising them. A provider webhook receipt by itself is not presented as proof that every product permission updated correctly.
How to use it
- Reconcile the confirmed subscription event with the actual product access state.
- Write the resulting status and real available actions without inferred payment or retention claims.
- Test the state-specific journey and stale/duplicate trigger handling before an approved send.
Check before using it
- A scheduled end is not mistaken for a completed transition.
- Payment, access and data statements are each independently accurate.
- The next action matches the actual current account state.
What to measure
Verify state accuracy and whether affected people can use the described options. A correct notice does not establish inbox placement, account recovery or a successful paid conversion.
Research and sources
The sources describe subscription state and event-related messaging. This original status copy is not billing-system logic or a universal notice of data retention or payment rights.
