AI marketing tools for solo app founders
Choose AI marketing tools by the work you need completed: understanding an audience, producing an asset, publishing a campaign or learning from results. For a solo app founder, the useful question is whether the workflow gets a real campaign shipped and connects it to useful product use.
This is a documentation-based comparison updated on 9 October 2026, not a hands-on ranking. Tangenix publishes this guide and is building Crany.ai. The existing products below can be evaluated today; Crany is in development. Features and availability can vary by plan and connected services. We do not assign untested scores or claim measured time savings.
Compare the job each tool helps complete
| Tool | Documented use | Check before choosing |
|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT | Draft messaging, research with web search, and create content. OpenAI also describes Work features that complete tasks using tools, context and connected apps. | Which marketing actions can your selected setup complete, what approval does it require, and how will campaign outcomes get back into it? |
| Buffer | Brainstorm, rewrite and repurpose social posts with its AI Assistant. Buffer also offers social publishing and performance features. | Are your chosen channels supported? What can be published directly, and which product conversion events can you connect to the review? |
| Canva | Create and adapt campaign assets using capabilities such as Magic Write, Bulk Create and Magic Resize. | Can you produce an accurate app demo or campaign asset in the formats you need, using your real screenshots and brand materials? |
| Blaze | Its software offers content planning, review, publishing and performance tracking. It separately offers a managed service with a human team. | Which tasks are included in software versus the managed service? Can it connect the campaign to the app activation event you need? |
The linked vendor documentation supports these capability summaries. It does not establish that a tool improves your acquisition or that a particular integration is available in your account. OpenAI describes tool-enabled execution, so comparing every general AI product as “only a writer” would be misleading.
What Crany.ai is being built to do
Crany.ai is an AI marketing co-founder for vibe coders and software founders. Its planned workflow holds product context, strategizes, executes approved marketing work, reads the results and improves the next round. It is intended for founders who want marketing done while they keep building.
Crany is in development and currently has a waitlist. This is product direction, not a claim that a publicly available service has already delivered those outcomes. Launch date, public pricing and the final integration set have not been announced. Use the available tools above if you need to run a campaign now; join the free waitlist if you want early access to Crany.
Pick a workflow for your current bottleneck
- No clear audience: use a general AI tool to organize real interviews and public problem discussions. Verify the sources and choose one segment before generating assets.
- You know the offer but have no usable creative: start with a real product demonstration, then use writing or design tools to adapt it. Check every feature claim against the working app.
- You have approved content but publishing is inconsistent: evaluate a publishing workflow for the specific channels you need. Confirm the action completes in the destination account.
- Posts ship but you cannot tell what works: fix campaign tagging and product events, then feed raw outcomes into the review. Engagement and activated users answer different questions.
- You want the whole loop delegated: evaluate a tool-enabled workflow or an AI marketing co-founder against the execution checklist below. Look for finished actions and a result review.
Run this eight-question evaluation
Give each candidate the same real product, audience and campaign brief. Use a small approved experiment so you can inspect what actually happens.
1. Can it keep my actual product context and current limitations? 2. Can it explain the evidence behind its audience and channel choice? 3. What deliverable will exist at the end of this run? 4. Can it perform the required action in my connected channel? 5. Can I inspect and approve claims, assets, spend and publishing? 6. Will it return a publication URL or other execution receipt? 7. Can it read the outcomes I care about, including product activation? 8. Can it use those outcomes to change the next experiment?
Record the answer and evidence for each question. “Supported in the docs,” “configured,” “completed in my account” and “produced a useful business outcome” are different states. A successful demo establishes the action you tested, not a guaranteed growth rate.
Keep your first stack small
For a first campaign, one research-and-writing workflow, one way to produce the necessary asset, one publishing destination and a simple measurement sheet may be enough. Some tools cover several jobs. Add another tool only when a missing action stops the campaign from shipping or being measured.
Before paying, check current pricing with the vendor, connection limits, approval controls, export options and what happens when a run fails. No particular subscription is necessary to use our AI app marketing execution guide or weekly marketing plan worksheet.
