Software Webinar Q&A Moderation Handoff

Prepare a moderator to route live software questions by evidence, privacy and ownership while keeping unknowns and unanswered questions honest.

When to use this template

Use this when a product webinar has a real question route and someone needs to manage the queue while the presenter demonstrates. Assign factual boundaries before going live.

Choose another approach when: You want planted customer praise, intend to conceal genuine product limitations, or plan to share private account information in a public answer.

Worked example

Illustrative example, not a Crany customer result. Replace every example detail with facts you can verify.

Fictional example: an attendee asks whether a document app can export a format not demonstrated in the webinar. The moderator checks the current fact sheet and marks the answer unknown rather than inventing a roadmap date.
Another question contains a private account identifier. The presenter repeats only the general task when answering aloud, while account-specific help goes through the appropriate private support process if separately authorized.
The unanswered queue remains visible in the internal handoff. A later FAQ can use a genuine safe topic only after its facts are verified; the team does not create fake audience questions to make the event look popular.

How to use it

  1. Verify the actual question route, visibility and moderation responsibilities.
  2. Route questions using current evidence and strip private context from public discussion.
  3. Retain unanswered items with real owners and review any corrections after the event.

What to measure

Track questions answered with evidence, privacy issues caught and unresolved items. Assess whether the queue produces accurate help, not merely a high engagement count. A question or upvote is not proof of purchase intent.

Research and sources

Zoom documents live/written Q&A and audience-visibility options. This original moderation handoff adds factual and privacy boundaries without changing those settings, sending a follow-up or presenting questions as customer-demand measurements.
