Screenshot Localization Review Template
Review translated store screenshots for product accuracy, interface language, text fit and cultural context before publishing a locale.
When to use this template
Use this when adapting an existing screenshot story to a language or storefront and you need a concrete review handoff between design, product and a fluent reviewer.
Choose another approach when: No one can verify the translated wording, the product does not support the implied locale experience, or you intend to infer legal compliance from translation alone.
Gather these inputs
- The approved source-language screenshot sequence.
- The actual localized app interface and supported capabilities.
- A fluent reviewer and current storefront asset requirements.

Worked example
Illustrative example, not a Crany customer result. Replace every example detail with facts you can verify.
A fictional travel-planning app is adapting a packing-list screenshot sequence. The reviewer checks that the caption means “prepare a list for this trip,” rather than implying that the app automatically books transport. The product team verifies that the captured interface is available in the target language. A long translated button label is checked at the final display size, not only on a large design canvas. Any currency or date examples use appropriate demo values. The review records an unresolved capability mismatch as a blocker rather than hiding it in a shorter caption.
How to use it
- Confirm which parts of the real app are localized before translating marketing promises.
- Review captions and UI captures together with a fluent reviewer.
- Check final-size exports and record unresolved meaning or availability issues before submission.
Check before using it
- Translated captions preserve the actual product promise.
- The screenshot does not suggest unavailable language support.
- Formatting and demonstration data remain appropriate without making unsupported cultural assumptions.
What to measure
Track localization defects found before and after release and compare relevant storefront outcomes only with their context. A linguistically correct asset is not evidence that the whole localized product journey works.
