Article Factual Review Handoff Template
Give a reviewer the exact claims, source passages, product checks and unresolved questions that need attention before a marketing article is released.
When to use this template
Use this when a draft is ready for review but a generic “looks good?” request would leave important product or source claims unchecked.
Choose another approach when: You want a reviewer’s quick approval to substitute for missing evidence, bury known uncertainties, or ask someone to approve material outside their competence.
Gather these inputs
- The exact draft version and intended public audience.
- A claim-level evidence record or source references.
- A reviewer with a defined factual or product responsibility.

Worked example
Illustrative example, not a Crany customer result. Replace every example detail with facts you can verify.
A fictional guide says a checklist export preserves comments. The product reviewer sees the exact sentence and a test showing exports contain only item text. They mark it for correction instead of giving the whole draft a vague approval. A separate statistical claim is outside that reviewer’s expertise and remains on hold. The editor checks the final published wording after revision. A review of version three is not used to justify an unreviewed stronger claim added in version four.
How to use it
- Identify the exact draft and bounded responsibility of each reviewer.
- Present claims with evidence and explicit uncertainty rather than a generic approval request.
- Implement corrections and verify that the released version matches the reviewed facts.
Check before using it
- Approval is tied to an exact version and defined scope.
- Known evidence gaps are visible to the reviewer.
- A later stronger claim requires its own support and review.
What to measure
Track corrected claims and unresolved review items before release. A structured handoff improves traceability; it does not make a reviewer responsible for every legal, technical or factual issue.
Research and sources
Accurate sourced information informs this original review handoff. The workflow is not prescribed by Google and is not a certification or legal approval process.
