Marketing Claim Source Ledger Template
Attach evidence, scope and review triggers to published marketing statements so statistics and product claims remain verifiable.
When to use this template
Use this when a fact or statistic is reused in several assets and a source change could leave multiple pages inaccurate.
Choose another approach when: You intend to publish private research notes, treat a vendor’s advertising as independent proof, or cite an article that you have not actually inspected.
Gather these inputs
- The precise factual statement and every public location using it.
- The original evidence source and relevant context.
- A responsible reviewer and an appropriate update trigger.
Copy and adapt the template
Edit the text below and copy it into your own document. Edits stay in this browser field and are not submitted or saved by this page.
Worked example
Illustrative example, not a Crany customer result. Replace every example detail with facts you can verify.
A fictional landing page says its export includes checklist titles and item text. The ledger points to a tested public export demonstration and records the supported file format. A separate proposed claim says “teams save three hours a week.” No study or appropriate customer evidence exists, so the record marks that sentence on hold. The team can publish the bounded export capability while withholding the unsupported time-saving number. One verified feature does not justify a broad business-outcome statistic.
How to use it
- Record claims as written so the evidence review addresses the real public wording.
- Inspect the original support and document conditions that could change its meaning.
- Find all affected assets when evidence changes and verify the updated public text.
Check before using it
- Secondary commentary is not presented as original research.
- A source about one population is not generalized without justification.
- Private evidence is referenced internally without publishing sensitive notes.
What to measure
Track unsupported claims found and the time required to update all affected public locations. The ledger supports editorial accuracy, not legal certification or a guaranteed improvement in search visibility.
Research and sources
The reference supports transparent reliable information. The ledger is an original evidence-management tool; its fields are not a checklist mandated by Google.
