Review search-ad asset combinations for repeated wording, missing qualifications and conflicting promises before approving the copy set.

When to use this template
Use this after drafting an asset set and before approval. Look for incomplete references, redundant calls to action and qualifications that disappear when only part of the set appears.
Choose another approach when: You expect a preview to enumerate all possible delivery or are using copy checks to certify legal compliance, policy approval or actual campaign performance.
Gather these inputs
- The exact headline and description set proposed for one ad.
- Current destination content and the factual basis for each claim.
- A list of conditions that must accompany an offer wherever it appears.

Worked example
Illustrative example, not a Crany customer result. Replace every example detail with facts you can verify.
Fictional assets include “Try the Handoff Checklist” and “No Account Needed”. The destination allows viewing a sample without an account but requires one to save a checklist. Review finding: the second headline can imply that saving also needs no account when displayed with a different line. Revision: replace it with “View a Sample Handoff”; keep the saving requirement visible on the destination. Reviewers test the revised set again, including a single description. No pinning trick is used to conceal an unsupported promise.
How to use it
- Read assets in plausible partial and reordered combinations instead of only the preferred mockup.
- Record the interpretation that creates a problem and revise the underlying ambiguous line.
- Recheck the full affected set and verify the final destination before ad approval.
Check before using it
- Optional copy is not the only place explaining an essential restriction.
- The review includes different orders and partial display.
- A corrected asset does not introduce a new unsupported benefit elsewhere.
What to measure
Record issues found and resolved per asset-set version. Later monitor real ads and outcomes; passing this editorial check establishes consistency of the reviewed copy, not that every displayed combination was observed.
Research and sources
Google says responsive assets may appear in different orders and not every line is guaranteed. The adversarial reading cases are original editorial QA, not an exhaustive simulator of Google delivery.
