When to use this template
Use this when several marketing activities have run and the founder needs to decide what deserves another week without confusing effort with results.
Choose another approach when: You have changed measurement definitions halfway through the week without noting it, or want to interpret a quiet short period as proof that a whole market has no demand.
Gather these inputs
- The original experiment briefs and resource limits.
- Raw counts from the same observation windows.
- Relevant customer observations and any broken measurement paths.

Worked example
Illustrative example, not a Crany customer result. Replace every example detail with facts you can verify.
Experiment: invoice reminder demonstration in a designer newsletter. What shipped: a working demo page and one tagged newsletter link. Observation: visitors reached the page, but two interview volunteers misunderstood whether reminders were sent automatically. Measurement gap: the first day’s activation event was not verified, so that day is excluded from a conversion comparison and documented separately. Decision: revise the page explanation and test the reminder setup with a new user. Do not conclude that newsletter marketing failed. Next action: founder records one full setup path before the next placement.
How to use it
- Review the original question before looking at the most flattering chart.
- Keep raw counts and qualitative evidence beside one another.
- Choose one next action per experiment and document what must remain stable.
Check before using it
- Counts use the same cohort and time window.
- Unknown or broken measurement is shown rather than silently filled with zero.
- The next action follows evidence instead of an arbitrary posting quota.
What to measure
Track how often the team completes the declared next action and whether repeated experiments become more informative. The purpose is a better decision loop, not a weekly report that always looks positive.
Research and sources
