App Store In-App Event Fit Brief
Assess whether a real app experience fits Apple In-App Events before producing event metadata, regional schedules and promotional assets.

When to use this template
Use this when a software founder has a real limited-time experience inside an existing app and is considering App Store event discovery. The output is a fit decision and evidence brief, not a promise of featuring.
Choose another approach when: You have only a routine discount or a general awareness campaign, the experience does not exist in the app, or you want to describe ordinary maintenance as a major event.
Gather these inputs
- The actual in-app experience, what is new and who can participate.
- Start and end times, regional availability and any necessary purchase or access conditions.
- A working destination, accurate event media and an owner for delivery and support.

Worked example
Illustrative example, not a Crany customer result. Replace every example detail with facts you can verify.
Fictional example: a drawing app plans a one-week collaborative sketch challenge with a real in-app prompt collection. The brief records the experience, participant access and time zone before anyone makes event-card artwork. A separate request to advertise the normal annual subscription discount fails the fit check: price-only promotion does not supply a new event experience. The team routes that request to ordinary marketing rather than inventing an event label. The challenge still needs an appropriate badge, current metadata review and a tested destination. Completing this brief does not mean Apple approved or featured it, and it does not imply that Crany itself has a mobile app or event integration.
How to use it
- Describe the participant experience and its time-bound moment before choosing a badge.
- Check fit, real access conditions and the ability to deliver in each named region.
- Proceed to truthful metadata and route verification only when the experience qualifies.
Check before using it
- The event has substance beyond a recurring task, discount or awareness slogan.
- Regional times and access conditions can be supported by the actual app.
- An editorial fit decision is not represented as provider approval or guaranteed featuring.
What to measure
Review proposals held for weak fit and delivery gaps discovered before promotion. After a real approved event, assess actual participation separately from store exposure. This brief does not establish event eligibility on Apple’s behalf or predict reach.
Research and sources
Apple explains suitable event experiences and excludes routine activities, price-only promotions and general awareness as good candidates. This original fit brief applies that guidance to founder planning without generating a real event submission.
