Founder Search Intent Mapping Sheet
Map observed search questions to real founder tasks and existing page value before assigning content work or creating another URL.

When to use this template
Use this when search observations, customer questions or a credible research source suggest several related queries. Group by the job the reader needs to complete and compare that with actual content.
Choose another approach when: You only want keyword permutations, intend to treat a tool estimate as confirmed customer demand, or cannot explain what a visitor can do after reading the page.
Gather these inputs
- Dated query observations or customer-question evidence with their limits.
- The real audience tasks and current product or resource availability.
- Existing public pages, their original deliverables and known content gaps.

Worked example
Illustrative example, not a Crany customer result. Replace every example detail with facts you can verify.
Fictional example: a founder observes questions about “client handoff checklist” and “website handover checklist”. Inspection shows the same existing resource can serve the shared task when its scope is clear. A question about who should approve a handoff describes a different decision, but that does not automatically authorize another page. The map first asks whether the current resource can answer it completely and whether a separate approval asset would add useful original value. The founder records these interpretations as hypotheses. Neither the existence of a query nor a competitor’s page establishes willingness to pay, and no invented search-volume number is added to make the commissioning decision look certain.
How to use it
- Preserve actual question evidence and write the underlying task as a hypothesis.
- Group equivalent jobs and inspect existing resources against the desired result.
- Choose a specific improvement or research action before commissioning a distinct page.
Check before using it
- Question wording, source observations and inferred reader intent remain distinguishable.
- An existing matching resource is considered before another URL is proposed.
- Unmeasured demand is not replaced with a fabricated volume estimate.
What to measure
Track whether mapped questions lead to useful task coverage and whether proposed commissions duplicate existing value. Later review actual search and reader observations within consistent scope. A task map is an editorial decision aid, not proof of ranking opportunity or demand size.
Research and sources
Google emphasizes an intended audience and useful original content; Search Console describes observed query performance. This original mapping sheet does not treat report metrics as market size or claim a universal intent-classification method.
- Google: Creating helpful, reliable, people-first content — checked 2026-10-24. Original value, useful answers, transparent sourcing and a clear audience.
- Google Search Console: Performance report overview — checked 2026-10-24. Observed query/page clicks, impressions, CTR and average position within selected reporting scope. Not search-volume estimates, universal ranks or proof of customer demand.
