Use Case Page Brief Template
Justify a distinct app use-case page with a specific audience task, available workflow, original evidence and an honest next step.
When to use this template
Use this when a product supports a genuinely different workflow that needs its own explanation, demonstration or reusable resource.
Choose another approach when: The proposed page differs only by an industry label, the app cannot perform the workflow, or the page would send every visitor to the same generic pitch without answering the task.
Gather these inputs
- A distinct user task and the circumstances that make it different.
- The actual supported workflow and relevant limits.
- Original demonstration, worksheet or evidence that belongs to this use case.
Copy and adapt the template

Worked example
Illustrative example, not a Crany customer result. Replace every example detail with facts you can verify.
A fictional checklist app considers a page about handing over a client website. A useful page would show the exact handoff sequence, a sample instruction structure and the client preview, with clear limits on what the app supports. It would not create separate “handoff for designers” and “handoff for creative professionals” pages if both provide the same answer with different nouns. The separate-page justification is a useful workflow asset and explanation. If that value cannot be supplied yet, the brief remains a draft rather than being counted as a completed public resource.
How to use it
- State the page’s standalone value before selecting a slug.
- Compare the proposed reader task with existing pages and consolidate true overlap.
- Prepare the original asset and verify the product workflow before publishing the page.
Check before using it
- The page answers its task without requiring a signup.
- The workflow and limitations match the current product.
- Separate URLs are justified by useful differences rather than keyword permutations.
What to measure
Assess whether relevant visitors can use the page’s asset or explanation and whether it leads to an appropriate next action. A new URL count is not evidence of new demand or ranking success.
Research and sources
Google’s helpful-content principles and task-focused research support the brief’s premise. The standalone-value and overlap checks are original editorial controls, not a guaranteed programmatic SEO formula.
